Best Exercises For Pear Shaped Women

Best Exercises For Pear Shaped Women
by: Lydia De Leon

Being a pear shaped woman myself, I know the struggles involved in trying to achieve a lean and sleek pair of legs. There are a few things I have learned about how to exercise effectively for maximum fat loss in the lower region and balancing out our physiques.

For starters, there are a few things we must accept so that we won't beat ourselves up with frustration.

1. Accept the fact that you have a pear shape - we carry most of our body fat in the lower half of our bodies (hips, thighs and butt).

2. Consider the fat on your lower region as fat magnets. In other words, it is very easy to attract fat to the thighs, hips and buttocks and very difficult to move (not impossible though!)

3. Accept the fact that you will have to work extra hard to lean out the lower half of your body.

If you can accept the above, then you'll be armed with a more realistic mindset when working out and trying to lose fat. You'll be able to be patient with yourself and won't give up.

Now the good news!

1. It IS possible to lean out the hips, thighs and buttock areas.
2. It IS possible to achieve a great pair of legs.
3. You can balance out your upper body so that you are well proportioned and symmetrical.

So how do we go about leaning out our lower bodies and balancing out our upper bodies?

First, you will have to eat very clean and watch your fat intake.
Stick with fruits, veggies, tuna, tilapia, chicken, lean meats and egg whites.
Eat more of the green types of veggies and lots of salads.
Eat starchy veggies (potatoes, rice, pastas etc...) in moderation.
Drink lots of water.

When eating fruits, try to eat them in the morning, before your workouts.
Try not to eat fruits after 2pm.
Best fruits: all kinds of berries, grapefruit, apples.
Best veggies: brocolli, green beans, asparagus, green, onions, garlic, red, yellow, orange peppers, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce.

Rules:
Never fry your food.
Grill, boil, steam, bake or pan fry with Pam Spray, never in a pan of oil.
If you're going to have a cheat day, make sure do it early enough so you can burn it off.
Never have a cheat day at night.
Try (if you can!) to only cheat twice a month.
What is a cheat day: ONE cheat meal only! Not a whole day of cheating!

Did I say drink lots and lots of water too?

Ok, so now if you eat this way, you will start noticing yourself getting leaner. You'll be shedding some fat off of your overall body. Yes, your lower body too! Your pants and skirts won't fit anymore. So you'll have to buy a new wardrobe!

But this is not the whole story. In order to create those great lean legs, you will have to exercise differently than your friends and those women in the magazines.

We want to lean out our lower halves and build up our upper halves.

We have special needs, so we must exercise specifically, to meet this need.

>From my experience, pear shaped women need to focus on light to moderate weights with very high volume repetitions in the lower half of their bodies, incorporating lots of cardio workouts too.

The upper half of our bodies need a different plan all together.

To get that symetrical and balanced look, we need to lift heavy weights so that we are widening our shoulders and backs and creating those sexy arms. Don't fear lifting heavy. We will never get big. And if it's any comfort to you (or maybe not!), our bodies are the most difficult of all body types to gain muscle.

I know, I know, but we can still get that lean, defined, sexy and well proportioned body we're seeking.

So this is the plan I use and seems to be working very well. Yes, I am seeing RESULTS. It will take time, but if you are completely determined, patient and focused on your goal, you will achieve that sexy, well proportioned and symetrical body that screams out, "WOW"!

Here's the work out plan that I am currently using:
Lower body 3 times per week.
Upper body twice per week.
Cardio 6 times per week.

Lower body workout:
Incorporate a variety of leg excersizes such as lunges, squats, butt blaster, leg presses, leg extensions, hip excersizes, leg extensions and hamstring curls.
You can choose 3 - 4 excersizes three times per week.

Example:
Day 1: squats, lunges, leg presses, calves cardio
Five sets each of 35 + repetitions with moderate weight
Rest 30 - 45 seconds between sets

Day 2: leg extensions, hamstring curls, butt blaster
Five sets each of 35 + repetitions with moderate weight
Rest 30 - 45 seconds between sets

Day 3: walking lunges, side walking lunges, steady lunges
Five sets each of 35 + repetitions with moderate weight
Rest 30 - 45 seconds between sets

Don't worry about the sets and reps in the beginning. Do as many as you can. If you can do more than 35, do more.

Cardio: jogging, treadmill, elliptical machine, jumping rope, swimming, cycling, aerobic classes etc... Just make sure you are working out intense enough to really burn the fat.

Upper Body Workout:
I exercize my upper body twice per week:
Full upper body workout: chest, back, shoulders, tri's and bi's, calves
Abs 4 times per week.

I choose 2 - 3 exercizes per body part.
3 sets each for 8 - 10 reps.
Weight is heavy.
Rest about 60 seconds in between sets.

That's it. I do cardio 6 times per week. Upper body twice per week. Lower body three times per week. Abs 4 times per week, calves 3 - 4 times per week.

I find that this intense workout PLUS eating a CLEAN diet, very effective in leaning out the lower half of our bodies plus balancing out our upper halves.

Make sure you get lots of rest too!

Just one pear shape sister to another......

God Bless You!

Beauty Sleep

Beauty Sleep
by: Cathy Gatson

Beauty Sleep
The health and beauty of a good night's sleep

by Cathy Gatson

Sleeping is a necessity, not a luxury. A good night's sleep is just as crucial to maintaining wellness as is a healthy diet and proper exercise.

The Importance of Sleep

Sleep is a restorative process. While we're sleeping, our brain is cycling through the 3 stages of sleep: light, deep and REM. Sleep restores, rejuvenates and energizes the body and brain. Our immune systems are recharged, cells grow and repair themselves, and our bodies conserve energy.

Dangers of Sleep Deprivation

Unfortunately, to many sleep is not valued. In this "open all night" society we now live in, four out of ten Americans are trading much-needed sleep hours for longer hours at the office, gym, club and other activities which seem more important or interesting. What they may not realize is that lack of sleep takes a toll on our mental and physical well being. Studies performed by the National Sleep Foundation show that even minimal sleep loss has a profoundly detrimental impact on mood, cognition, performance, productivity, communication skills, accident rates and general health. For optimal functioning throughout the day, the average adult needs between seven to nine hours sleep a night. According to the NSF, the American adult population functions on about six and a half hours of sleep per night.

Don't Sleep?

For some, lack of sleep is not a choice, but a condition. Millions of Americans suffer from insomnia. According to the NSF, a third of Americans are using over the counter or prescription sleep aids at night. If you suffer from insomnia, here are a few tips to help you get some shut eye:

· Pray before bedtime. The bible tells us to "Cast your burden upon the Lord. Don't go to bed with a heavy load. Give it to God. Remember Joy comes in the morning"
· Avoid caffeinated food and beverages like coffee, teas, soft drinks and chocolate 3 to 4 hours before bedtime.
· Exercise regularly, but complete your workout at least three hours before bedtime. Keep your body calm.
· Make sure your mattress is the right one for you. Flip your mattress over periodically.
· Develop a bedtime ritual. Taking a warm bath 90 minutes before bedtime will relax your body and usually make you feel sleepy.
· Make sure your bedroom is quiet and comfortable.
· Have a cup of warm milk.
· Play relaxing music.
· Go to bed and wake up the same time every day. When your sleep cycle has a regular rhythm you will feel better.

Be a Sleeping Beauty

A friend of mine once told me that a woman should present herself to her husband at bedtime like a present. Interesting…so I polled a few colleagues and found overall most husbands prefer their wives to be lingerie clad at bedtime. Nude came in a very close second and pajamas were considered very un-sexy. Wives preferred their hubbys wear only boxers to bed. Whatever your sleepwear preference, bedtime is the opportunity to prepare your mind and body for the rest it deserves. Here are a few more tips to help you sleep pretty:

· Always remove your makeup and cleanse your face thoroughly before bed (Oil of Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin). Going to bed without washing your face not only leads to mascara-stained sheets (Andrea Eye Q's eye makeup remover pads $3.50+ voted best by Allure Magazines 1999) but the dirt picked up during the day can clog pores and lead to acne.
· Brush and floss your teeth.
· Vaseline works wonders on rough spots while you sleep. Try it on feet, elbows, and knees and dab a little on your lips too.
· There are several night creams on the market now claiming to be more effective if applied at bedtime, here are a few to try: Lancome - Primoridale Intense Night Cream $41.50, Murad Perfecting Night Cream $41.50. If these prices are more than you normally spend then L'Oreal Age Perfect Night Cream and Oil of Olay ProVital night creams are available at Wal-Mart and Target. Prices range from $14 - $15.
· If you wrap your hair in a scarf at bedtime, remember to wash it regularly.
· Wear your fancy nighties to bed. Don't save them for a special occasion. You are a special occasion.
· After your bath or shower ritual slather on a lotion that relaxes you and helps you fall asleep like Origins Night-a-mins moisture lotion or Calm to Your Senses Body Souflee.
· Marilyn Monroe is said to only have worn Chanel No.5 to bed but if you prefer something a little lighter then Issey Miyake's L'Eau D'Issey Soothing Night Fragrance is a good pick.

Here's wishing you brighter days and more restful nights!

50 Motivational Tips for Exercise and Weight Loss

50 Motivational Tips for Exercise and Weight Loss
by: Ray Kelly

No matter who we are, we all have days when we just do not feel like exercising. The weather might be grey, you’ve had a busy day, or you might just be bored with your program. Whatever the reason, you just don’t feel like it!

It’s on these days that we need that extra motivation.

I’ve been exercising regularly for most of my life so I’ve had plenty of those days. To get me through, I’ve compiled a list of tactics to help motivate me.

Read something inspiring!

It could be a biography, quote, poem, or song. Use other people’s experiences to give you that lift.

Start a walking group!

It's more social and you all get to feed off the motivation of each other.

Think of exercise as a menu rather than a diet!

Make a list of activities and choose 1 each day.

Use a training journal!

By keeping track of your activities you can see the improvements in your fitness week to week.

Start an interest or hobby that requires physical fitness!

It could be bushwalking, rock-climbing, tennis, golf, or scuba-diving. If you require physical fitness to enjoy the activity you will be more inclined to train for it.

Increase your incidental activity!

This is the amount of activity you do in your normal course of your day, the activity not generally classed as exercise. You could: walk to work, take the stairs instead of the elevator, get up to change the channels instead of using the remote, or play with the kids for 15 minutes per day.

Try cross-training!

If your exercise program is always the same then break it up with one session per week of swimming, bike riding, jogging, sprints, or circuits. You could even play a different sport and use it as a training session.

Use a Personal Trainer!

Personal trainers can provide motivation as well as training variety.

Use an exercise video!

If exercising in public places is not for you, then try training at home. There are many forms of training available on video including: boxing, aerobics, pilates, and yoga.

Just start!

You will always be able to find excuses not to train so don't think about it, just walk out the door.

Listen to music!

Put on the stereo or use a walk-man. Music certainly helps the time go faster.

Watch TV!

Most fitness centers currently have a cardio theatre where you watch your favorite shows whilst you work out.

Read about the benefits of exercise!

We all know that exercise is good for us but do you know why it is? Reading a reputable publication on exercise can inform you of the great ways exercise can improve your life. It's more than just being able to walk up those stairs!

Don't complicate things, make it simple!

You don't have to find a fitness centre or join a Tai Chi group. Just find a nice park and go for a walk or run.

Create a list of reasons you want to be healthy and read it regularly!

It may be to improve health, play with the kids, or trek through India. Whatever the reasons write them down.

How Soy Isoflavones Increase Women's Health

How Soy Isoflavones Increase Women's Health
by: Greg Wirth

Soybeans, containing various phytochemicals, are one of richest source of isoflavones, also known as phytoestrogens. They contain about 36% protein, 18% fat, 30% carbohydrates, isoflavones and other minerals and vitamins.

Soy Isoflavones are similar to natural estrogens. They show both estrogenic and anti-estrogenic effects. Soy isoflavones also act as antioxidant agent. Major constituents of soy isoflavones are genistein, daidzein, and glycitein.

May help prevent cancer

Soy Isoflavones are helpful in preventing various types of cancers - breast, lung and mouth cancer. They also find use in reducing risk of heart disease and osteoporosis. Soy isoflavones also help in increasing bone density.

Pregnant women and men with prostate cancer should avoid the use of soy isoflavone supplements. However since the preventative effects of isoflavones are particularly important for young women soy products should be included daily to increase the prevention of breast cancer. The low incidence of breast cancer in Asian women primarily from Japan and China could be explained by the high intake of soy isoflavones.[1]

Additionally a new study suggests isoflavones may prevent DNA damage to the immune system in postmenapausal women: Soy isoflavones from supplements and soymilk benefit the immune system of postmenopausal women The recommended serving contains 40-50 mg per day of soy isoflavones. Providing about 25 mg of genistin, 19 mg of daidzin and about 6 mg of glycitin.

More Information

One of the most comprehensive no-fluff sites of information on soy isoflavones is Isoflavones.info. If you are a women or young lady please take time to review that site for a better understanding of how isoflavones can keep you living long and healthy. Additionally be sure to review my site listed below for more information on using a high quality broad-spectrum vitamin supplement.

Breastfeeding Is An Ideal Method Of Feeding And Nurturing Infants

Breastfeeding Is An Ideal Method Of Feeding And Nurturing Infants
by: Connie Limon

In recent years especially research consistently shows breastfeeding infants provides a multitude of compelling advantages to:

* Infants
* Mothers
* Families
* Society

These advantages include:

* Health
* Nutritional
* Immunologic
* Developmental
* Psychological
* Social
* Economic
* Environmental

Human milk is uniquely superior for infant feeding. All other commercial substitute feeding options differ markedly from it. Breast milk is easily digested and contains antibodies that can protect infants from bacterial and viral infections. The health benefits to mothers include lower rates of certain breast and ovarian cancers.

Regardless of the superiority of human milk against all other infant feeding options, health professionals agree that there are rare exceptions when human milk is not recommended. Breastfeeding is not advisable if one or more of the following conditions is true:

* The infant is diagnosed with galactosemia (a rare genetic metabolic disorder)

* The infant whose mother has been infected with HIV, is taking antiretroviral medications, has untreated, active tuberculosis, is infected with human T-cell lymphotropic virus type I or type II, is using or dependent upon an illicit drug, is taking prescribed cancer chemotherapy agents that interfere with DNA replication and cell division, is undergoing radiation therapies (radiation therapy requires only a temporary interruption in breastfeeding)

Human milk is the preferred feeding for all infants, which includes premature and sick newborns with some rare exceptions. The final decision on breastfeeding an infant is the mother’s. It is the role of the pediatricians to provide parents with complete, current information on the benefits and methods of breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding should begin as soon as possible after birth, usually within the first hour.

Newborns should nurse whenever they show signs of hunger, which include:

* Increased alertness or activity
* Mouthing
* Rooting

All the above signs will appear before crying. Crying is a late sign of infant hunger.

Newborns should nurse about 8 to 12 times every 24 hour period until satiety. This is usually accomplished within 10 to 15 minutes on each breast. If the infant is non-demanding in the early weeks after birth, they should be aroused or awakened to feed if 4 hours passes since last nursing.

Do not give supplements such as water, glucose water, formula and so forth to breastfeeding newborns unless advised by a health care professional due to some kind of medical indication. With adequate breastfeeding knowledge and practices, supplements are rarely needed. Pacifiers and supplements should be avoided and if used at all, only after breastfeeding is well established.

Newborns and breastfeeding mothers should be seen by a pediatrician or other knowledgeable health care professional when the newborn is 2 to 4 days of age. At that time, infant weight and a general health assessment should be done as well as observing breastfeeding for evidence of successful breastfeeding behavior. In addition the infant should be assessed for jaundice, adequate hydration and age-appropriate elimination patterns. The infant should have at least six urinations per day and three to four stools per day by 5 to 7 days of age.

Some obstacles to the initiation and continuation of breastfeeding include:

* Insufficient prenatal breastfeeding education
* Inappropriate interruption of breastfeeding
* Early hospital discharge in some populations
* Lack of timely routine follow-up care and postpartum home health visits
* Media portrayal of bottle-feeding as being “normal.”
* Commercial promotion of infant formula through hospital distributions of discharge packs, coupons for free or discounted formula, television and general magazine advertising

The highest rates of breastfeeding are among higher-income, college-educated women, 30 years of age living in the Mountain and Pacific regions of the United States.

The AAP strongly recommends breastfeeding as the ideal method of feeding and nurturing infants and recognizes breastfeeding as most important in achieving optimal infant and child health, growth and development.

Natural Breast Enlargement Methods

Natural Breast Enlargement Methods

Natural breast enlargement methods are today preferred over breast implant surgeries. Like its name suggests, natural breast enlargement methods are natural and therefore, safer. Also, the processes are non invasive, which reduce the risk of any surgery. The non invasive process also does off with the use of silicone or other such substances being used. Similarly, these natural breast enlargement methods do not have any side effects.

Some of the main natural breast enlargement methods in use today are:

1. Breast enlargement pills
2. Breast enlargement lotions, creams and sprays
3. Breast pumps
4. Exercise and Breast Massage
5. Hypnosis

Breast Enlargement Pills

The female gender achieves puberty around the age of ten or twelve. An increased production of hormones like estrogen, progesterone and prolactin stimulate the growth of the cells of the breast.

Breast enlargement pills use the same concept. Mankind has known such herbs which stimulate growth since ages. These herbs are known to increase the bulk of the breast growth. These herbs contain the plant estrogen, called phytoestrogen. This phytoestrogen has the same function human estrogen has. They stimulate the growth of the adipose tissue, i.e. breast.

Phytoestrogens are found in the following natural herbs:-

• Pueraria mirifica
• Blessed thistle
• Dong Quai
• Saw palmetto
• Fennel seeds
• Fenugreek
• Dandelion root
• Damiana
• Wild Yam

Breast Enlargement Creams, Lotions, Sprays

There are other breast enlargement creams, lotions and sprays which contain natural ingredients. These ingredients work towards firming the tissues and ligaments of the breasts. Further, these creams work as moisturizing cream for the breasts. While the creams supply breasts with additional water and moisture, they make the breasts look firmer and livelier.

These breast enhancement and enlargement herbs and ingredients are available in various forms, like creams, lotions, sprays and pills. Mostly, breast enlargement pills are used along with the creams, sprays and lotions.

Breast Pumps

Breast pumps are another method of enhancing breast size. The concept used is the same which is used to remove excess milk from the breasts of a lactating mother; however, these pumps are different in shape and structure.

Breast pumps consist of two cups attached to a vacuum generating device. These cups are meant to be placed over the breast. Pressure is generated when the air is sucked out of the cups, due to the partial vacuum. This pressure enhances the blood circulation in the breasts.

Therefore, these pumps enhance the health of the tissues and ligaments within the breasts. Further, breast pumps help in flushing out any toxic materials that settle into the breasts from time to time. This is especially helpful when the woman is lactating.

Exercise and Massaging

We all know that exercise is good for the body. In fact, there are various exercises set for various parts of the body, like the back, the arms and the legs. In the same way, there are various exercises for the enlargement of breasts. Apart from such exercises, massages are also very helpful in the enlargement of breasts. These exercises are just part of the stay fit regime more and more people are embracing all over the world.

Basically, breast exercises are aimed at firming up the pectoral muscles below the breasts. Once the pectoral muscles become firmer, the breast tissues follow suit, which make the breast tissues stronger and suppler.

Therefore, breast enlargement exercises are chest expansion exercises. These exercises are part and parcel of an athlete's life. Along with these exercises, women use yoga to enhance their physical as well as mental state of life. Breast massages are easy, and don't require any special equipment. These massages consist of different pressures applied on the breasts a set pattern. Breast massages provide better circulation of blood in the breast, and flush out any dangerous toxins that may collect.

Hypnosis

Perhaps the most conventional method of breast enhancement is hypnosis. In this process, the woman actually doesn't undergo any surgery, nor does she take any medicine - natural or otherwise. It is a known fact that hypnosis can be used to make a person believe some things. Using the same logic, the woman is hypnotized into thinking that the natural size of her breasts is good enough.

Therefore, the woman feels satisfied with herself - which may have a positive stimulation of the correct hormones and facilitate the growth of the adipose tissue.

Cynics maintain that hypnosis is not a breast enhancement technique at all, and have also criticized the morality of making a person believe something that is simply not true.

There are various other methods of breast augmentation and enhancement. More women are today opting for these methods. Some of the main reasons for this are:

1. These options are relatively safe.
2. There seem to be no side effects.
3. The woman doesn't have to undergo any surgery.

Can You Get Rid Of Skin Wrinkles With Face Lifts And Cosmetic Surgery?

Can You Get Rid Of Skin Wrinkles With Face Lifts And Cosmetic Surgery?
by: Marcus Ryan

By nature, we are all destined to age. It is inevitable. One day, we will all have lines and wrinkles in places that are visible and places that are not!

However, modern day technology and cosmetic surgery have provided us all with a means to halt the aging process. One of the main ways that individuals avoid facial wrinkles is the surgical face lift.

A face lift can make us look years younger for much longer than would otherwise be possible, but you can choose the right face lift for you because there is a variety of options.

The surgical face lift became popular on the celebrity circuit in the 1970s and 1980s, but only the most affluent of individuals could afford the procedure. However, the option is open to most individuals today because surgical face lifts are more affordable than ever.

When you look at the difference between face lifts then and now you will see a big improvement in the techniques and methods used.

In the 1980s, facial skin was pulled so tight that people noticed the surgery. There was also much more scarring than today. You could see the former whereas you would need a microscope to see the latter.

There are several types of facelifts and we'll look at just a few options.

The deep plane face lift began back in the 1980s and it proved that beauty really is skin deep because this procedure could knock ten or more years off of a 40 year old woman. That's because it gets to the root of the problem, the muscles in the face, which sag as we age. This causes us to loose tone, which then causes the skin to stretch.

As a result too often the skin is blamed for what is actually a muscle problem. This procedure starts by addressing the real problem and tightening the muscles, and then it moves to the surface. The results are very impressive.

Next up is the mini face lift, and this is perfect for individuals in their mid thirties through their mid forties. Regardless of whether you are male or female, this type of face lift will have a revolutionary effect on you because it tightens the muscles and the deep tissue around the face and thus tightens it up nicely.

Despite the work required for this procedure to be successful, there will be very little scarring of the tissue and the recovery time is therefore shorter than other face lifts. However, it only tends to work around your face so the nose and cheeks will remain the same in appearance.

The 1980s was the peak of the surgical face lift's popularity, but that popularity has waned today. It is still a viable choice for women trying to fend off the aging effects of time.

You should always consult a surgeon before having any procedure done because he or she will be able to advise you as to what would work best for you.

As long as you take the advice that he or she offers, then you can remain youthful and beautiful on the outside as well as the inside indefinitely!

Beauty and Ecumenicism

Beauty and Ecumenicism
by: Robert Bruce Baird

There are many vantage points from which to find beauty. The side of the mountains overlooking Lake Louise on the grass of the hotel sipping champagne with your most cherished friend is a memory of beauty that will always overcome my consciousness. The purr of my friend and companion as he welcomed me home from a hard days work or the smile on the face of most any person who 'sees' what little part of life we can partake in to help each other. There are many beauties and no real evil. This will be dealt with in greater detail under Abraxas in the concept segment. In the whole of the 'brotherhood' there are many religions and in each one; I have found the essence of beauty expressed by wise and metaphysical or soulful people. In Islam my favorite is Sufism. They make a good point about the poison of negativity and any form of thought that does personal energized harm to other life in this quote:

“The soul who had to sympathize with the whole world was thus prepared that the drop of that poison which always produces contempt, resentment and ill feeling against another was destroyed first. So many talk about purification of the heart, and so few really know what it is. Some say to be pure means to be free from all evil thought, but there is no evil thought. Call it evil or call it devil, if there is any such thought it is the thought of bitterness against another. No one with sense and understanding would like to retain a single drop of poison in his body. And how ignorant it is on the part of man when he keeps and cherishes a bitter thought against another in his heart. If a drop of poison can cause death of the body, it is equal to a thousand deaths when the heart retains the smallest thought of bitterness." (56)

The fear of nature or one's inner uncertainties has caused many to find evil in places where beauty exists. Once one no longer has to control nature, there is no place where beauty will not be found. It may be a bittersweet beauty such as seeing your lover find a person she wants to marry; when you are an older man with all the love in the world for a person you love in every way. It may be the joy you feel when you know you aren't going to have to schlep or drudge for money in the socially structured gambit to gain material things. The fears that create the opposite of harmony and brotherhood are the 'poisons' which no true Kelt would know as he/she spoke to Alexander about their creed and their honest appreciation for the soul in everything. Nature has no evil and the crooked bristlecone pine that dormantly awaits the desert rain has lived longer than the rash fast-growing ash that sprouts quickly skyward. In the soul that knows it is immortal the idea of change is welcome and thus the warrior’s death is too.

Thus one who truly loves will let all things and thoughts go free and hope to share the beauty of 'what is'. The Cathars had great 'brothers' in the Sufis who few people in the world are ready to accept the wisdom of in that war-torn realm of misogyny we call the Middle East. In my limited appreciation for the beauty of Jesus I see him being the kind of person who learned and changed throughout each day and therefore all the time he spent on earth. Each moment is a 'Zen' opportunity for the 'greater good'. But how many of our ways of organizing social behavior really wish good for each individual? There is no beauty in more of any THING; rather beauty exists in the fullness of each and EVERY thing. Oh yes, the turn of phrases and eloquence that waxes and wanes poetic can be a joy which in the crevices of thought are beauty-full but are they really beauty when they seek to arrange MORE for the politician and his cronies or platform? Alexander is said the first to have declared himself Divine while alive. We are in truth, all Divine. It is a divine comedy to be sure, this thing we call life.

Beauty Shop

Beauty Shop
by: Tamika Johnson

Beauty Shop tells the story of Gina (Queen Latifah) as she moves to Atlanta so her daughter can go to an exclusive music school. She finds a job as a stylist at a high end salon but after a confrontation with her boss leaves and opens her own beauty shop.

Beauty Shop doesn’t quite rise to the occasion as it repackages and regurgitates characters, themes and plots that we have seen before. It is one thing to tell a story that has previously been done yet bring something new to what may be an overdone but entertaining storyline and it is another to retell a story and not bring anything new to the table at all. Beauty Shop falls into the latter category and suffers greatly for it.

The main problem with Beauty Shop is that it is Barber Shop with women. From the plot twists to the characters inside the shop, it is the exact same movie as Barbershop except with Queen Latifah at the helm instead of Ice Cube. There is the funny, familial and penny pinching boss, Gina (Queen Latifah). There is the misguided, yet full of potential stylist in training, Darnelle (Keshia Knight-Pulliman). There’s the arrogant, know it all stylist who is a pain in everyone’s side, Chanel (Golden Brooks). There’s the novice stylist of a different race that can’t get any business, Lynn (Alicia Silverstone) and finally there’s the opposite sex stylist who is the only one of his kind in the salon, James (Bryce Wilson). Add to that the money problems, someone trying to take over the business and the possibility that the shop may have to close for good and you have the same movie, same story without any added flare. You even have the character that hawks their goods at the shop: in Barbershop it was a man selling bootleg CDs and DVDs and in Beauty Shop it is a woman selling catfish and monkey bread. The concept of being original must have never crossed the writer’s minds.

And once again I say, can we dispense with the gay stylists. That is a stereotype that can go to the stereotype graveyard never to be seen or heard of again…ever. Kevin Bacon, an actor I love does an absolutely horrible and I repeat horrible job playing Latifah’s gay and fascist boss. We can also dispense with "metrosexuals" the new overused and unfunny effeminate male stereotype that is going to appear in every movie where men are employed in what are typically considered to be women’s jobs. If so, I say please stop now before you make audiences suffer anymore then we already have at this new, unnecessary caricature. There was one of these characters in "Guess Who", and one of Beauty Shop’s many subplots is trying to figure out if the only male stylist is gay, straight or a metrosexual which would be a cross between the two.

For positives, there were some laughs and the opportunity to see a shirtless Djimon Hounsou was almost worth my money, but overall Beauty Shop was unoriginal and a bore. Ultimately the question is -- do you really want to spend your money on something you’ve already seen before. For me the answer is simple: No, I don’t.

What You Should Comprehend About Adult Acne Control

What You Should Comprehend About Adult Acne Control
by: Nash Burns

Acne treatment can sometime turns into a sort of routine maintenance, as new spots will continue to appear, leaving the teenager without a clear complexion.Get yourself an over the counter acne treatment product that has some sort of anti bacterial properties and try it out. You may be surprise with the result you get. Try these product out first and if these does not seem to have any effect on the acne, ask the pharmacist for a milder sort of treatment. When applying these product ensure the you cover all the surrounding area too and just the spot.

More and more people are affected by acne and it is now not just a common problem suffered exclusively to teenagers.Adolescent boys and girls can suffer severe psychological effects from even mild cases of acne. Acne problem takes months to completely recover and for the duration of the time you will have to live with it whether you like it or not. Perseverance and patience will definitely get what you wanted an acne clear face. Never stop your treatment and keep it going as this is the only way to clear your acne.

Excess oil and sometimes traces of sweat from the surface of the skin is what cleanser does and this to some extent may prevent the appearance of the much dreaded acne monster.When using topical acne treatment, cleanser allows the skin to be more readily absorb the treatment and making it more effective. There are many type of treatment for acne and one of them is the topical acne treatment which is applied directly applied on the acne itself. When using a cleanser, dont over use it as it can cause skin irritation due to the dryness effect. It is not recommend to use facial cleanser more than two times per day and for a good reason too.

Sex hormones fluctuation and increase in the body can cause the sebaceous glands in the skin to over produce oil.The hair follicle is the place that all the sebum are produced by the skin. In the event of the overproduction of the top layer of skin, the pores leading to the sebaceous glands may become blocked with plugs of keratin. Large quantity of sebum provides a fertile ground for bacteria to breed and mutiply. Youll notice the surrounding area will begin to inflame, while the blood vessels expand to allow more infection-fighting cells to the blocked pore.Pus is the by product of the event that has occurred.

The first thing people thought of as the cause of acne is usually hormone level which occurs during adolescent. Hormone fluctuation can also occur during adulthood where the hormone androgen will cause hair follicle clogging and inadvertently cause acne breakouts.

Fashion and beauty for your Destination Wedding

Fashion and beauty for your Destination Wedding
by: Pamela Stevenson

If you're getting married overseas, there are a few extra considerations when it comes to looking good. It's time to start planning your 'princess for the day' look!

Your wedding attire

There are two main considerations when planning your outfit for a wedding abroad. You need to find something that you will be comfortable wearing, especially if you're getting married in the sunshine, and you also need to choose something that you can transport relatively easily.

If the temperature on your wedding day is likely to be very cool, a 'floaty' beach dress probably isn't the perfect choice. Look for something that will suit the environment - more of a traditional ball gown-style wedding gown, for example. Equally, consider accessories such as shoes. Pretty beach sandals aren’t the thing for walking around the castle grounds. Instead consider a high heel shoe.

What you wear for your wedding is entirely up to you and there are no real dress rules if you are marrying in the grounds of your hotel. However, if you have arranged for a religious service in a chapel or church you will most likely be expected to respect local custom and cover your head and shoulders. Also in some Eastern countries, such as Thailand there is a specific dress code. Your wedding coordinator or the relevant embassy will advise you.

Transporting and caring for your outfits

When you choose your perfect dress, speak to the designer or store about how best to transport it. It may pack well with plenty of tissue paper, or could be better kept in a dress bag.

Check with your airline for advice on transporting your wedding outfits. Some recommend that they should be boxed or packed into separate suitcases. They will then be placed into the hold. Others suggest that you use suit carriers and, space permitting, they will be hung in the cabin of the aircraft. Outfits can always be carried as hand luggage but this will restrict you to keeping the rest of your hand luggage to a minimum.

As soon as you arrive at your hotel, unpack your wedding outfits and hang them up. A warm and humid tropical climate should allow creases to fall out naturally. However, your hotel or your wedding coordinator can normally arrange for your outfits to be steamed if necessary. Alternatively, hang clothes in a steam-filled bathroom which will help the creases drop out.

Hair and beauty

Hair and beauty treatments can be arranged when you arrive at your hotel, or you might even decide to book things before you arrive. If your hotel does not have these facilities, ask whether there is somewhere you can visit nearby. For total peace of mind, practice styling your own hair and make-up before setting off.

You're likely to want to have a healthy tan on your wedding day, but basking in the sun before the wedding isn't a good idea. As well as damaging your skin, you run the risk of looking more like a lobster than a sun-kissed bride. Pace your sunbathing on the run-up to your wedding or help nature along with a good quality fake tan. If you're doing your own fake tan, be sure to practise well in advance.
